Long Island Family Photographer

Covid-19 has brought parenting to a whole new level. I know it’s particularly challenging as we try to balance work, family and our new reality of life. We are finding ways to adjust and overcome. And I applaud each and every one of you!

I’ve been talking to many of my friends and clients and I keep hearing that kids are getting bored and could use some creative outlets. I know my grandson certainly can (that’s him in the photo!)
I’ve thought of a way I can help your kids tap into their creativity and encourage them to connect with themselves and their family through virtual photography classes.

Because I value your opinion, I would appreciate it if you would take a minute to answer a few questions that will help guide me as I create this class. You can find the survey here.

I’ll be back in touch once the class is ready to launch!
In the interim I have created a fun guide to help get your family started with interactive activities that are sure to bring some smiles to your faces.

Photo walk word search
Pick a fun word to spell out in photos. For example you can use your last name or choose a word that may be important to your family,
like Snuggle, Tickles, Kisses
You can find the letter or take a picture of something that starts with that letter.

Take a hike with a little goal setting
Get the kids ready to reach some goals. A wildlife photo search is always fun. Set a goal for each to photograph 3 wild animals. Birds, Deer, frogs, squirrels, even insects can be fascinating for them ,

Shadow Search
This can be done any time of day. Inside or outside. Long shadows or short.
Looking for shadows teaches children to see with a new perspective

Rainy Day?
Get out the umbrellas and rain boots. Capture the joy and excitement of jumping in a puddle or playing in the mud.
Have everyone take a turn, even mom and dad, jumping and capturing that
excitement.

And since we are home all day
Let’s Document a day in the life of…
Set a timer and every hour stop what you are doing and document with your camera whatever you are occupied with. Start as early in the day as you can, you want to make sure you get that crazy bed head look.

I recommend taking all of your favorite family images from these activities and create a little album with them. Next year and years to come it will be a great way to remember such a historic time in your family’s life.
I am certain it will be cherished by many generations to come.

Chatbooks is a simple and inexpensive way to make an album. For about $10 you can have a tangible memory of your family’s historic time together.

Here’s a download of the activities for you to enjoy with your family.
